Modified Sermoon D1 Y-Axis Bearing Blocks for Linear Rails
thingiverse
These are slightly redesigned y-axis bearing blocks for the Sermoon D1 that enable you to mount a linear rail to a t-track. THE ORIGINAL VERSIONS OF THIS DESIGN WAS DONE BY PROPER PRINTING AND ALL CREDIT GOES TO HIM. IF YOU LIKE THIS DESIGN PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING TO *HIM*, NOT TO ME. The blocks were designed to fit this specific t-track from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZV74RR1 The linear rail I used is 330mm in length as well: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08TQQNLW7 The fan shroud is my other modded design located here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5375384 The cut length of the track needs to be 365mm, but before you cut the track to length you also need to take into consideration the position of the holes in the track. Unfortunately I was not able to find t-track without predrilled holes but if you are able to find some you will have a much easier time performing this mod. The ends of the track where they insert into the blocks need to be free of any holes in them. Once you cut the length of track to fit and where it has no holes, insert each block and then drill a hole through the metal from the block side (so it will line up with the mounting hole on the block). Use a 4.5mm drill bit. Once the holes on each side have been drilled, use a 5mm tap to thread the holes. Reassemble the blocks on the ends and secure them to the blocks using M5 screws. You could use nuts on the ends instead of threading the t-track but there is very little room where the nuts need to go and if you go this route it's up to you to figure out how to do it. Included is an alignment tool to align the linear rail to the center of the t-track. You will need a minimum of two. Print them out and insert them so they hold the linear rail to the t-track. Please keep in mind that when you print the tool out you will need to take into consideration any shrinkage of the material you are using. PLA shouldn't need any scaling but ABS and nylon definitely will. Once the linear rail is mounted and oriented so it's in the middle of the t-track, you will need to drill holes to mount the linear rail. If you test fitted everything beforehand all the pre-drilled holes on the t-track (including the ends) will be clear of the areas you need to drill. Tapping isn't necessary since there's enough room for the M3 screws, though you will need to use screws that will sit flush inside the linear rail holes.
