xxFRESHxx's relocation plate and filament sensor is undoubtedly the best solution among all mods attempting to resolve the CR-10S filament-sensor-that-always-gets-loose issue. Every other mod I've tried shared the same flaw as the original: over time, the part would deform and become loose once again. In contrast, xxFRESHxx's relocation plate offers a rock-solid solution. After printing with it for months, I haven't had to worry about the filament sensor ever since. This modified STL housing is designed specifically for the sensor, featuring a PTFE tube socket that allows me to effortlessly route delicate filaments like wood or metal from a spool holder on top of my printer. Additionally, swapping this curved PTFE tube with the straight one coming out of the Palette+ scroll wheel during multimaterial prints has never been easier.
