Seal Baculum, Carved and Modified XCB-105-4096 - a 3,000-Year-Old Archaeological Treasure from Ancient Alaska Located at the head of Morzhovoi Bay on the western Alaska Peninsula is XCB-105 Adamagan, a massive village that thrived for centuries. Originally settled around 400 BCE-100 CE, this prehistoric metropolis was home to an estimated 1,000 people during its peak, making it the largest Arctic village in history. Archaeologists have unearthed evidence of multiple occupations at XCB-105 Adamagan, dating back as far as 2,200-1,700 BCE, 1,000-600 BCE, and 900-1,100 CE. This ancient settlement was a hub of human activity, with various residents engaging in diverse occupations. Thanks to the tireless efforts of researchers under grants NSF 9630072, NSF 9814086, NSF 9996372, NSF 9996415, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411, led by Principal Investigator H. Maschner, a wealth of information has been uncovered about XCB-105 Adamagan's ancient inhabitants. High-tech scanning technology was used to capture intricate details of the artifacts, which were processed using Geomagic or Polyworks software. The resulting digital models showcase the village's textures and structures in stunning detail, providing an unparalleled glimpse into Alaska's rich prehistoric past.
