Modified Sea Mammal Rib, Bone Burnishing Tool XCB-105-213 from 400 BCE to 100 CE. The site of Adamagan (Aleut for "place of walrus hunters") is located at the head of Morzhovoi Bay on the western Alaska Peninsula. At its peak, it was a massive village with multiple residents and occupations. It was estimated that the village had around 1000 people when it was inhabited from 400 BCE to 100 CE, making it the largest Arctic village in history. The Western Alaska Peninsula artifacts were made possible by research grants NSF 9630072, NSF 9814086, NSF 9996372, NSF 9996415, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner was the Principal Investigator behind this project. The artifacts were scanned using either a Faro Edge Arm or a Minolta Vivid 9i. They were then processed in Geomagic or Polyworks. A total of 2-8 photos were used to create texture in Geomagic Wrap.
