See a detailed overview of this project on Sway: https://sway.com/LqQa1e8HWW4ZqbUk I integrated a J Tech 2.8 Watt Laser Diode into my Sintron Prusa I3. Mounting the Laser at 100 MM above the print bed may not provide the level of precision you want with the laser beam. Optimal placement is 30 MM, but I preferred to mount it higher and potentially use both devices in tandem. My plan involves relocating the level sensor to the back of the x-carriage for better positioning within the x-y plane to measure the z-axis limit. A new sensor mount design has been created for this purpose, which is also included. However, note that moving the Z-position sensor to the rear of the carriage may restrict Z-movement by a certain amount, depending on your printer's frame. In my case, I lost around 15 MM of Z-travel from the top end. It could also impact X-axis travel, again contingent upon your printer's frame. A recent picture shows a laser-cut gear made on 1/8 inch thick Bassword. This required 4 passes at 2 AMP setting and 50% speed, followed by one pass at full speed.
