Modified Prusa i3 HIC Acrylic Z End Stop
thingiverse
I've recently upgraded my 3D printer by placing a glass bed and heating pad atop the original aluminum base. As a result, the Z-Stop switch height has increased significantly, necessitating an adjustment in the switch's positioning to accommodate the taller configuration. To address this change, I designed new bed corners that elevate the glass bed, forcing me to raise the Z-Stop switch holder by approximately 7 mm. This modification has dramatically improved my printing experience, as leveling the bed is now effortless and retention is no longer a concern. Unlike the original setup, which tended to shift over time due to loose screws, this new configuration keeps the leveling consistent. In another tweak, I modified the X-End Set Screw piece to utilize a #4 bolt, allowing for fine adjustments in height with just a quick turn of the screw. I'm relieved that I stumbled upon this design and wish I'd had it a year ago. Here are the print settings used for this upgrade: Printer: HIC TOP Prussia i3 Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 15% Material: PLA This upgrade was designed using Tinkercad, enabling me to tailor it specifically to my printer's requirements.
