Modified Lock Picks
thingiverse
After experimenting with the initial models, I discovered that the two provided options were either excessively thick, unable to fit into the lock slot, or strikingly thin, bending under minimal force and rendering them unfit for proper use. To bolster their structural integrity, I reworked Model 1 in Tinkercad by adding sturdy triangular points from the handle, effectively reinforcing the pick. However, upon further examination, I found that the tension bar struggled to insert smoothly into the lock, its flexibility hindering effective pin control. By strategically removing some of the material that came into contact with the lock, I was able to maintain the tension bar's strength while still enabling it to slide in comfortably. This refined modification yielded positive results during my home testing using a master lock; the picks functioned flawlessly as anticipated.
