Modified InMoov head
thingiverse
I want to thank Gael Langevin for creating the InMoov 3D-printed robot that I'm building. The original design can be found on his website at http://www.inmoov.fr. This post is the first in a series of changes made to the head of the robot. It shows the parts redesigned to make room for more electronics in the head. The outside remains the same as the original InMoov head, but the inside has changed. Use the original InMoov head parts for everything not included in this post. I've used a smaller servo to turn the head than the one originally specified. The cogwheels have been removed and the jaw has been redesigned to relocate the jaw servo. I've added 2 standard size servos for head turn and jaw, 3 smaller servos for eyes, a Raspberry PI 2 with a PI camera, an Arduino Uno, a USB sound card, an amplifier, a speaker, and a USB transmitter for keyboard and mouse. Some pictures have been edited to remove connecting cables for easier viewing. The pictures also show the use of a modified neck and headstand. The eyes and eye mechanism are new designs. Since this is work in progress, not all parts have been tested yet. I will publish them once they're functional. Update 20150930: The jaws moved too slowly, so I changed the threads to increase speed. Use JawPistonV2 instead. Part 2 can be found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:994720. Update 20151206: I added HeadStandNeckHolder to this post. It's not necessary if building the whole robot, but it can hold the head on a stand without printing any rods. You can see it in several pictures. Update 20160126: I've added more pictures to show how things are mounted. Update 20161030: If you don't like cables running outside the neck, this remix made by dix23 works well and is what I use now: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1581955
