Modified Geared Follow Focus
thingiverse
A new version of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:9313 includes improved handwheel and lens counter gear components. To enhance security, I increased the diameter of openings in the primary part by 3.6mm (to 11.8mm) and added 11mm extruded rings to both parts for direct contact with 608 bearings. This ensures that M8 bolts can securely hold together the bevel gear, bearing, and lens counter gear or handwheel. The added rings also minimize friction between components. However, they may make printing more challenging; supports will be needed regardless of print orientation. Alternatively, you can use original handwheel and lens counter gear parts with 1.2mm and 2.4mm rings for similar results without reprinting the main part. The remaining parts, Gear_new_repariert.stl and MiddlePiece.stl, remain unchanged. The Litwan-designed handwheel also includes the modification. Try it out and let me know if it works better than the original design!
