V4 is REVAMPED: I've rebuilt the duct from scratch, resulting in a smoother airflow experience now, Check out Section Slice Images for visuals. V3 units are obsolete and no longer worth using. I'm working on perfecting two key aspects here. Firstly, I aim to remove the part cooling fan while retaining the heat sink fan, allowing for hot end work with the nozzle still attached. Secondly, I'm focusing on direct airflow towards the nozzle area. The Volcano Hot End is yet to be installed; it's reportedly 8.5mm longer than my current setup, and this means it will sit 8mm below the nozzle. I've mounted the fan and tested it with a flame - the effect is impressive, but perhaps a bit too forceful? It should be easy to adjust the fan speed. Unfortunately, my prints so far have been subpar; they're close enough in terms of measurement, but not clean enough for my standards. Next up is upgrading my Extruder and Hotend. The BMG with Cooperhead seems like the best option - it offers more flow than a Volcano and features vertical adjustment, making it ideal for IDEX configurations that need to balance right and left sides. It can also handle very high temperatures when paired with the correct measuring devices; check out Slice Engineering to learn more about them.
