Modified Eyepiece Holder

Modified Eyepiece Holder

thingiverse

I printed the original iPhone 5 Eyepiece Mount (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:39308) but discovered that the eyepiece holder only fit one of my eyepieces, severely limiting my selection options. I decided to modify it by splitting it to allow for a small amount of expansion or contraction, making room for other eyepieces I wanted to use. A hole is provided for screwing in place, but you can also use a rubberband or plastic clamp as shown, which works surprisingly well. After experimenting with it a few times, I found that better results were achieved when the eyepiece was positioned further away from the iPhone camera lens, so I went back and created a taller version to increase the space available. This modification enabled me to capture full-frame pictures on my iPhone 5. To make this work for you, simply download the original file and delete the eyepiece holder in your slicer or add this modified version alongside it.
