I'm getting the files assembled as we speak, plus I made a crucial change by swapping out the small motor drivers for the trusty 6560 - way easier to control this way! Now let's talk about that E3 hot end: it's an Amazon find, but don't worry, I upgraded the heating block by drilling a tiny hole next to the nozzle just for the thermistor. That modification has been a game-changer. For now, we're rocking the Repeater firmware and host combination, which performs significantly better than Marlin in my books. One more tweak: I've opted for direct drive on the extruder - makes a real difference! On the bed front, I'm utilizing regular old white smooth floor tile cut down to an 8.5" square size, accompanied by a standard 20mm square heating element. My extruder mount is double-printed and bearing strong - I printed those bearings from nylon filament, which has held up admirably so far!
