Modified Baddeley Door Hinge
thingiverse
This is a slightly modified hinge for the MKIII Baddeley R2-D2. It can be used in place of LowerHinge.stl and UpperHinge.stl. When installing my servo-controlled doors, I noticed that my doors were not closing flush with the body - even when I used the "extra pull" version of the hinge that was intended to solve this issue by allowing the hinge arm to rotate a few additional degrees. My investigation suggested that the actual cause of the problem was the existence of a gap causing a slight misalignment between the hinge arm and the fully closed door. I corrected this gap and misalignment by making the flat end of the hinge arm thicker than the stock part. Additionally, I have opted not to use the flexible servo linkage parts and so I have replaced the slot that would normally receive the arrow-shaped end of the servo arm with a simple 2mm hole that can accommodate a standard 1mm wire linkage.
