Modifications / Improvements of the MK2
thingiverse
I've made some significant modifications to my Prusa MK2. Z-axis Stabilizer Smaller Power Supply on the backside of the printer, as the original wouldn't fit with the stabilizer in place. Cover for the print bed connector Fork-Spool Holder and spool kernels More stabil Y-idler More stabil y-motor holder with improved Y belt geometry; the motor is lifted to its maximum height. Original Prusa rods must be replaced by new ones that are 305mm long. The stabilizer rods, however, measure 365mm in length. You can find a suitable Power Supply at http://www.ebay.com/itm/18W-360W-DC12-24V-Trafo-Transformator-Netzteil-Treiber-Driver-LED-Streifen-IP20-/351742218326?var=&hash=item51e5785056:m:mUgv3IfQDYrvwr6Qx4uPPkw I'm using the 360W version with a fan, but you can replace it with a more silent option like the Noiseblocker BlackSilent Fan XS1 50mm Lüfter ITR-XS-1. The PSU air diverter prevents the print bed from being cooled by the PSU's airflow! ...more information to come. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 MK2 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 10% Notes: The PSU parts should be printed in ABS for temperature reasons. The spool holder and the Z axis stabilizer bot must also be printed mirrored.
