My towel always hung in a semi-humid state over the glass pane of my shower. I designed two 3D printed brackets to hold a rod and make it easier to grab the towel while keeping it dry. The height turned out to be ideal, and the brackets fit like a glove. Success! First, I measured the thickness of my glass shower pane to ensure the slots would fit snugly. With a tolerance of +/- 0.5mm, it was a perfect interference fit. Next, I measured the distance from the center of another towel holder's rod to the wall for reference. Finally, I scored an ideal-length rod at Crate & Barrel's clearance section for $5.
