Modern Diesel Train
thingiverse
Last minute gift idea... Choose a scale factor based on available printing time! Here's a toy train inspired by mid-20th century diesel locomotives, particularly the Fairbanks-Morse Erie Built. I've printed this model in PLA (v1 pictured) and ABS (v2 pictured), with a large one printed in Wood/PLA (v3 pictured). v1 has reduced detail, which might be preferred for a small scale. v2 adds some extra details. v3 is big, requiring additional wheels to be added. The source files (modern_diesel_train.skp and modern_diesel_train_update.skp) include several "half models". Just mirror and scale the larger portions of the model before exporting! Print Settings Printer Brand: SeeMeCNC Printer: Rostock MAX Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: Your choice! Notes: I've had good luck printing these on their rear ends, with pillars to support some overhangs. For multicolor prints, run out of Wood filament and have poorly-wound spools of Orange. Then adapt and proceed!
