Unique Partnership in NijverValley. Nijverdal 29-03-2014 Agreement Next Tuesday, Ten Kate of Nijverdal (provider of high-quality armed thermoplastics) and Hegemann Betonbouw (construction company using special armored concrete structures) will sign a cooperation agreement to work more intensively with each other in the future. Both companies complement each other well in the field of lightweight constructions. Nijverdal Ten Kate provides armed thermoplastic composite materials that are widely used in the aviation industry and increasingly used in the automotive industry. These materials now appear to be particularly suitable for extremely strong and lightweight bridge sections. Hegemann Betonbouw has extensive experience with complex high-stress concrete bridges. Ravijn-Fly-Over As a pilot project, the new Ravijn-Fly-Over is called, a bicycle-pedestrian bridge over the new N35 and the railway in the Ravijn. This bridge is part of the Fietssnelweg F35 that runs from Enschede, Hengelo, Almelo and Wierden to the visitor center at the top of the hill in Nijverdal. Parts of this F35 are already visible near the Nijverdalse station. The Ravijn-Fly-Over also connects the visitor center on the Sallandseberg with the Adventure Park and the Landal Park in Hellendoorn. Long-distance walkers (users of the Pieterpad) can also make use of this bridge, with a breathtaking view. Unique Construction The bicycle-pedestrian bridge will have a length of 150 meters and consist of 7 supporting pillars, the longest of which is 18 meters above the Ravijn. On these pillars come 6 self-supporting bridge sections that are each 20 meters long. The bridge sections made of reinforced thermoplastics are 6 meters wide (4 meters for the Fietssnelweg F35 and 1.5 meters for the pedestrian path). Where the bridge sections lie on the concrete pillars, a round observation point with a cover of 12 meters is created to enjoy the beautiful view. A bench can also be placed here. The bridge sections have cable channels for lighting and rainwater drainage under the pedestrian part. Unique Partnership Not only these companies from Nijverdal are involved, but also the Municipality of Hellendoorn, the Province of Overijssel, the Twente Region and the Cyclists' Union play an important role.
