Modelling Molecular Shapes
thingiverse
Human: Project for High School Chemistry: Each group was assigned a unique molecule to research, with the objective of determining its molecular shape and bond angles. To ensure diversity in molecular structures, I carefully selected molecules representing different shapes. Following this, students spent a class period engaging with TinkerCad tutorials, honing their skills before embarking on building their model. Once they had completed their model, I provided instruction on VSEPR Theory and its direct correlation to molecular shapes. Finally, each group presented their model to the class, effectively communicating how it exemplified one of the key molecular shapes. By doing so, students were empowered to create their own manipulatives.
