Modelling a Saucer (High Poly)
sketchfab
Participants in the Blender Mesh Modelling Bootcamp on CGCookie were tasked with incorporating exercise into their workflow, specifically focusing on creating a saucer utilizing minimal good topology and modifiers. Starting with an eight-sided cylinder as the primitive foundation, they applied two edge loops for each inside bevel and three edge loops for the underside lip. By applying the Bevel modifier using Edge Bevel Weights to control placement, participants were able to precisely shape the cylinder's edges. The surface was then capped off by adding a supporting edge loop on the flat face and four quads, solidifying its structure.
