I'm pretty thrilled with this result. I think I spent roughly five hours on it over the last night and this morning. I was really determined to apply what I learned about snapping. With Edit Mode unavailable, I found the spacing of the keyboard keys and the tilt of the keyboard most difficult to snap. I eventually eyeballed those things. Not totally defeated, however, I was super happy when I got my mouse's buttons to snap the faces of its icosphere. This was an amazing exercise!
