The vibrant architectural model, crafted in 2019 by an enthusiastic participant at a Memory Cafe, drew inspiration from the unexecuted plans for a skyscraper atop Selfridges, London's iconic department store. Collaborating with Age UK Kensington & Chelsea at a Memory Cafe, 3D printed models and the RIBA's extensive collection of architectural photographs served as catalysts for lively discussions and nostalgic recollections about buildings and cherished locations among a group of volunteers and individuals living with dementia. A creative session ensued, where everyone was encouraged to use plasticine to shape a building that held personal significance, was vividly imagined, or appeared in RIBA's images. This striking 3D model was meticulously scanned by the RIBA's Learning team from its plasticine counterpart using a state-of-the-art 3D Scanner generously funded by a grant from the London Museum Development Measuring Up Programme.
