Model Rocket Piston Ejection System (74mm)
thingiverse
This is a full-body, 3D-printed ejection recovery system for 74mm model rocket fuselages. It comprises two parts: a tube (fuselage) adapter that links the lower section to the top and also serves as the cap holding the shock cord or string connecting to the piston. The piston slides freely inside the upper fuselage, which holds the nose cone, connecting the shock cord to the lower section, nose cone, and parachute. Design is based on Joe Bernard's piston system (BPS.SPACE). However, I'm very clumsy with my hands and dislike cutting, so a fully 3D-printed version was used. In terms of weight, this option is lighter than its alternative. The hooks that were 3D printed show no signs of wear after five consecutive tests.
