Model Rocket Launch Pad
thingiverse
As several members pointed out, a surprisingly low number of model rocket launch pads are featured on this platform. I created it as a Christmas gift for my nephew; however, the launch controller will soon be completed. The pad is designed with modularity in mind, having a wide base that comes apart for easy storage and transport. Please note that, using an 8" (200mm) cubed print volume, both the legs and core consume most of the available print bed space. A 1/8" centered hole is standard-sized for rods; I am considering releasing the 3/16" size for maxi-rod compatibility if anyone requests it. The printed hole was initially snug but became larger when drilled out with a 9/64" bit after shaving off just a little. Remember to use a metal blast plate! Most plastics used in FFF printing are not suitable for direct exposure to motor exhaust. Instructions: Print the Launchpad Core and Leg Fixed files; you'll need to print the Leg three times, excluding the "NO PRINT" STL file, which is simply a display model. I used supports and 20% infill for added strength.
