This project involves creating simple nesting rings for model rocket body tubes. Estes sells kits, but a homemade version can be more cost-effective for classroom use. The provided SCAD file includes a function with inner and outer diameter sizes for various Estes rocket tubes. Print one ring, testing the fit before printing the rest to ensure accuracy across different printers. Adjust the "FUDGE" factor in the SCAD file if necessary. To use, slide the printed ring onto the tube and carefully cut along the marked intersection with an X-Acto knife or pencil. Optional: add tape inside for a tighter fit. Note that this design is not used in full-size Lego R2-D2.
