Model Rocket Fin Assembly Jig (25mm tube)
prusaprinters
This fin assembly jig helps with the attachment of all three fins simultaneously or separately to the rocket's body tube. This jig is sized for 25mm rocket tubes (such as Estes Alpha, Cadet, AstroCam, etc.).To use the jig, simply slide it onto the tube. Then apply a thin layer of glue to the fin edge, and slide the fin into the jig with the glue side to the rocket tube, taking care to keep the glued edge in the gap between the jig and the body (don't allow glue from the edge to make contact with the jig). Once in position, make sure the fin is flat against the body. Apply the other fins in the same way. You can then use small binder clips to hold the fins securely in place, or a rubber band or two (see photos). Set the workpiece aside and wait for the glue to dry completely before sliding the jig off the tube and fins. This version is slightly different from that in the photos in that it provides a wider gap from the rocket body, which helps to reduce the risk that any excess glue contacts the jig and ends up gluing it to the body. This is an original work done in Fusion 360.
