In my vast collection of model rockets, I have several that cannot stand on their own three/four fins due to protrusions that extend below said fins. For some, I have created wall mounts out of PVC pipe and fittings to give the illusion of flying, which works great for those, but others - the smaller models, do not lend themselves well to that method. For those, I have designed these little display stands. I will add more designs, as well as photos of the completed stands, as time allows. base1 and base1b are designed to display rockets that use Estes A sized engines. base2 is designed to display certain older water/air powered rockets Print Settings Printer: Tevo Tarantula Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 10% Notes: For Estes A sized engine models (including the 1/4 and 1/2 A sizes) scale base1 up 112% for proper fit. The opening in base2 is ~13.5mm in diameter. Scale the entire model up or down to suit your needs. How I Designed This Be kind with your comments. My computer did not have enough power to handle this model in Sketchup - my go to design program with which I am well familiar - so I decided to finally give FreeCAD and Blender a try. I designed the first one - base1 - in FreeCAD in the Parts workbench; converted it to a mesh; exported that; and ran it through NetFabb. I wanted to try my hand at creating valleys in the exhaust flame, so I loaded that STL into Blender and played around with it a bit there. I know it's not perfect, but I'm learning and I think it's pretty good for my maiden attempt. Category: Vehicles
