Model railroad, Trestle
thingiverse
This wooden model trestle, available in O/S, HO, and N/Z versions, is perfect for model railways. Each trestle has been designed so that a train can run underneath it; scale them as needed. The O version measures 120.5mm high, with a clearance of 110mm under the trestle, while the HO version stands at 84mm and offers 75mm clearance. The N/Z design is 47mm tall with 42.5mm clearance. Print upside down to prevent warping, and adhere well to the build plate for best results. PLA filament works well; adjust print parameters according to your printer and materials. Use a heat gun to straighten any bent trestles. Remember to follow best practices for printing, like using good-quality filament and leveling your build plate beforehand. This free software is available under the GNU General Public License, version 3 or later. User feedback is welcome; limitations include design complexity and printability. Designed with OpenSCAD 2013.06, this trestle does not adhere to a specific prototype but is inspired by various online images of real-life trestles. Note that G scale is too large for these parts.
