Model of a Human Hand (intended to aid in ergonomic designs)
thingiverse
I created this model of a human hand, carefully approximating the metacarpals and phalanges as cylinders and the knuckles as spheres. The intricate details are driven by adjusting the Cartesian coordinates of the knuckles and the diameters of the cylindrical bones and spherical joints. A comprehensive part tree is organized with precise nomenclature, all outlined in the attached PDF. This model is designed to facilitate the creation of highly customized ergonomic equipment, such as a computer mouse, that perfectly conforms to an individual's hand shape and needs.
