As an active member of a model railway club, I was approached with a unique request - to create a 3D design of a historic fountain basin located in Westerlo, Belgium. The challenge was intriguing, and I was eager to take it on. Our club's project involves rebuilding the village center in scale 1:87 (HO), which requires meticulous attention to detail. In 1913, this charming village still boasted a steam and diesel tram railway, adding an extra layer of authenticity to our miniature recreation. The fountain basin stood as a prominent landmark in the village square, drawing attention from passersby and locals alike. To learn more about this iconic feature and see photographs, I recommend visiting the club's website at https://www.mscdekempen.be (a Dutch language site). To bring this historic landmark to life, I utilized Blender to create a precise 1:1 scale model of the fountain basin. With the STL file in hand, I skillfully transformed it to fit our scaled-down village center, perfectly capturing its essence in HO scale.
