Model Boat Fender

Model Boat Fender

thingiverse

This is a scale model of a boat fender, reduced to 1/12 of its actual size, at 10"x26". It consists of two separate parts that snap together easily. A tiny round magnet can be fitted into this model for a more realistic appearance and function. I intend to use it as a prop to trigger a hidden switch on my model boat, making it look like a functioning component. The picture showcases both assembled fender components. Printer Details Brand: LulzBot Printer Model: TAZ 5 Printing Preferences Rafting: Yes, the parts will require rafts for proper adhesion to the build platform. Supports: The fender requires support for one part, which will make assembly easier and more stable. Slicing Parameters Infill Density: 30%, optimal for strength and detail in the model. Additional Information Tips For Assembly And Printing: The cap needs careful alignment with the body as the parts snap together. Using ABS material helps the model hold its shape but may need sanding for a smoother finish. Post-Printing Considerations Assembly and thread clearing can be tedious, taking some time to get everything aligned properly. Cleaning up threads from the assembled fender works, even though it's a bit more difficult.
