This is a 3D representation of a subadult Caribbean Reef Shark (Carcharhinus perezi), meticulously crafted by artist Robert Gutierrez from footage captured underwater in January 2019 during an expedition with the OceanX and Cape Eleuthera Institute teams. Divers on board skillfully recorded video of this shark as it swam effortlessly through the ocean, providing vital data for Gutierrez to work with. Using Blender and combining preexisting shark models, he recreated this individual with precision, striving to ensure that every detail was anatomically accurate.
