sketchfab

This is a 3D animation of a juvenile green sea turtle (ID=CM1648) that was captured by the Loggerhead MarineLife Center at Blowing Rocks Preserve on December 23, 2016. The turtle managed to survive a shark attack and was photographed using Beastcam technology with 20 Canon G16 cameras by Christine Shepard. The 3D model of this sea turtle was created through a photogrammetry scan using Capturing Reality, which was then reconstructed into a full sea turtle movement animation by animator Jer Bot in Blender. Dr. Jeanette Wyneken from Florida Atlantic University and Charles Mairne from the Loggerhead MarineLife Center reviewed the movement animation to ensure accuracy. This 3D animation is available for free download for creative and non-profit use, with licensing options available through www.digitallife3d.org.
