AT-STs are four-legged, walker-type vehicles used by the Galactic Empire and First Order forces in the Star Wars franchise. These massive, armored machines serve as mobile emplacements for Imperial or First Order troops to engage ground targets with heavy blaster fire. Typically crewed by a single pilot sitting high above the ground in an open-top turret, AT-STs are designed to provide suppressive fire from a stable position while allowing their crew to observe and direct their surroundings. When not actively engaged in combat, AT-STs often patrol Imperial or First Order lines of defense, ready to respond quickly to any perceived threats. In addition, they can be used as intimidating display pieces to deter potential adversaries from approaching sensitive areas.
