MOD-t Filament Spool Hack
thingiverse
I recently acquired one of New Matter's MOD-t printers. But when I wanted to switch out the filament for another color option, I quickly realized that it wouldn't fit on the spool it came with. So I started searching online to see if anyone had created a modified spool - and surprisingly, no one had. With that in mind, I decided to create my own adapted spool and make it available to anyone who's facing the same issue. This is still a work in progress because I'm having trouble generating supports for the object I want to print. To top it off, I need a part for my other printer to print out the design. And until then, I won't know if this spool is the right size since I haven't printed it yet. Just so everyone knows, please don't try printing this on your MOD-t. My intention is to resize it to fit perfectly on it in the future. **Print Settings** * Printer Brand: SeeMeCNC * Printer: Rostock MAX v2 * Rafts: Doesn't Matter * Supports: Yes * Resolution: I just left this at "0" * Infill: 10% * Notes: I've found that selecting the "Only Infill Where Needed" option in Slic3r can save a significant amount of print time and filament. Unfortunately, I'm still struggling to generate any supports - I've tried using astroprint.com but it cut my model in half. To resolve this, I plan on creating my own custom supports using basic cylinders in OpenSCAD.
