Mod for Creality Ender 5 - Fine adjustment of the Z axis endstop
thingiverse
It is a Z-axis adjustment system for the Creality Ender 5 printer, a solid concept but flawed when loosening the captive nut as it easily turns the screw touching the endstop, resulting in lost adjustments. This mod corrects that flaw by allowing precise and fine adjustments using only one large wheel. Vibrations and misalignments are eliminated by using a self-locking nut. Materials Needed: * 1 M3 x 30 screw * 1 M3 nut * 1 self-locking M3 nut Mounting Instructions: Using a soldering iron, insert the M3 nut into the wheel. Next, thread the screw on the opposite side and screw it in almost to the end. Apply epoxy to the screw head to prevent turning. After applying the epoxy, finish tightening the screw so that the epoxy fills the gap between the screw and the wheel. Insert the self-locking M3 nut into the body, taking care not to deform it as it fits inside the platform. If it does deform, it may not fit correctly. Once the epoxy has hardened, you can remove the original adjustment system and install the new one, matching the hole with the one on the platform from below. Insert the screw through the wheel and turn it until the bed is level at 0.09mm distance, which is usually the thickness of a DIN A4 80gr sheet. For later fine adjustments, simply turn the wheel slightly in either direction until you achieve the correct distance between the bed and the nozzle.
