Re-purposing Scrap Materials Through Modular Connectors: A Sustainable Furniture Concept As part of a university project, I am exploring innovative ways to breathe new life into discarded materials by creating modular connector systems that bring together scraps in unique furniture and homeware designs. My concept centers on reusing scrap material in creative ways, using an inner connector system as the core mechanism. This versatile device allows for seamless slotting of diverse materials into the connectors' varying diameter holes. These interconnected units can then be securely fitted into a range of housing designs, which serve as interchangeable building blocks to craft diverse objects. By manipulating the scale of these connectors, one can unleash a wealth of possibilities in creating new functional pieces.
