Mobula7 "indestructible" frame / crazybee F3 / Modular design
thingiverse
I made significant improvements to the concept, making it lighter and incorporating numerous small enhancements. This design is intended to replace the mobula7 frame, but can likely substitute most crazybees of this size. The design is intentionally multi-part to enable two different usage options: Single Plastic Material The protection frame is the one that's likely to break. Only print the necessary part. Clips in place and easy to detach. A 0.4mm frame is recommended for this usage, which will break easily but is also very light. TPU + Plastic of Choice This is my recommended setup, resulting in an almost unbreakable frame. The inner body is made from stiff plastic (e.g., PLA, ABS, or even PET). The outer frame and clips are made from TPU for infinite lifetime! A 0.8mm frame is recommended for this usage, which is a bit heavy but necessary to add some stiffness to the TPU. Printing I recommend using nozzles with diameters ranging from 0.4mm to 0.8mm. Print at the thinnest layer height you can reliably print and print slowly to make it strong. No support is needed; your setup should be able to handle approximately 1cm bridges. Editing You will need Blender 2.8 to open the file (free software). Press "s" after selecting the text on screen to increase or decrease the clearance for the parts clipping together. Updates 05-13-2019: Larger holes were added to avoid motor shaft friction, and slightly stronger arms were incorporated (which was already sufficient).
