Flying mini quads poses a significant threat to the Mobius lens, which is often at the absolute forefront of the quad, taking the impact first ("if" there's an unfortunate crash some day).\nProtecting the Mobius camera's wide-angle lens, this design provides a crucial safeguard.\nUsed with or without an additional GoPro Hero 2 protection lens, which can be part of a comprehensive lens replacement kit,\nis the ultimate protective solution.\nI've engineered an extension to both up and down positions on the mount, redirecting impact from potential crashes towards this central support,\ncreating a dual layer of protection;\nit works without the protection lens if minimal weight increase is preferred.\nThe extra lens adds approximately 4 grams to the system,\nwwhile plastic screws with ABS materials contribute another 5 grams, making the protected Mobius rise to 50 grams; sans extra lens it hits 46 grams exactly.\nPlease note that this is an ongoing project;\nfollow-ups and feedback are encouraged, and adjustments will be implemented immediately as necessary.\n\nInstructions for assembly include:\nThe mount consists of two parts joined with M3 plastic screws,\nvirtually unnoticeable due to their light weight;\nbecause the design ensures a tight fit between pieces, clamping down firmly is recommended.\nIf you want to conserve even more grams,\nonly assembling half this module can still save the lens and camera in crash landings.\nThe instructions call for printing two parts identical on either side for simplified handling during reprints.
