Mobius strip
thingiverse
This configurable Mobius strip allows customization of its radius, width, and thickness, as well as the number of half-twists and initial angle. A lampshade shape is created with zero half-twists and an initial angle of 45 degrees. The dual mobius consists of two strips, one with an initial angle of 90 degrees. The wavy-edged strip uses a sinusoidal function to modulate its width based on the given width and i values. In the large Mobius, the width is set to three times the radius. To optimize construction, use the concat() function instead of union(), as demonstrated in the OpenSCAD development release. Code examples can be found on Github (https://github.com/KitWallace/openscad/blob/master/mobius_concat.scad), with further discussion on Kit Wallace's Tumblr (http://kitwallace.tumblr.com/post/75264490978/mobius-strip). The resulting model, mobius_2.stl, was generated from this script.
