Mobius Knot
prusaprinters

A sculpture based on the idea of a Möbius strip, a surface with only a single side. Saw a similar design in a consignment shop and came up with something similar that i liked the ascetics of.

Simple block design is easy to assemble, print out the parts with no supports;

1x of the small I

1x of the Large I

2x of the Big L

3x of the small L

All parts will print on a Prusa Mk3, but not all at once.

I printed them at .2 layers at 10% infill with 3 top and perimeter layers. Since its just a static model extra infill is not necessary and the perimeter layers ensure good solid surfaces for the clamps without crushing.

Use the colored diagram provided below to identify the parts and align them correctly, in my assembled I worked in pairs using Super glue (CA glue), using long clamps to hold the parts together as it cured. Then continued in pars till i just had two halves to assemble together.

Once finished a light sanding to clean up the seams, printed then sanded again, then a final coat using a Copper finish metallic paint.

Sitting on the 3 “points” as pictured its about 16in wide x 8In tall x 13in deep
