Mobius Filter Holder

Mobius Filter Holder

thingiverse

An attachment for a Mobius ActionCam on a tripod, featuring a slot to insert gelatin or polyester filters in front of the lens and functioning as a lens hood too. My primary purpose is removing the infrared block filter and using various other infrared filters. More details can be found at Public Lab: http://publiclab.org/notes/cfastie/04-18-2014/mobius-filter-o-matic. This print doesn't need support, but the ceiling above the lens might appear messy without affecting function. The pictured model is PLA with 0.2 mm layer height, 15% infill, 2 shells, and a greatest dimension of 56 mm. Open tripod sockets may occur in MakerWare slicing. Initially tight, the 1/4 20 bolt threads work well after tapping. The black filter felt serves as both a handle and light blocker. A piece of black felt is glued under the arch behind the lens to prevent light entry from the back.
