Mobius Dash Camera Mount

Mobius Dash Camera Mount

This is a bracket designed to mount the Mobius Actioncam to the stalk of a typical rear view mirror. It employs a suspension clamp that clamps around the stalk, allowing for flexibility with different sized stalks by simply swapping out the clamp for a different size. For added stability, it's recommended to use a rubber coated clamp or insert rubber inside to prevent movement. This mount is not overly rigid since only one bolt holds it in place (the bolt also provides angle adjustment). Any item featuring a 1/4" or M6 bolt can be mounted to the end of the bracket. I used a 5/8" rubber insulated clamp from harbor freight on my 1988 Chevy C1500 pickup and a 1995 Ford ranger, both with success. Important note: If you plan to replicate this setup, it's crucial to replace the lithium battery in the camera with a capacitor instead. Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause the battery to fail, swell, or even catch fire. The capacitor works well but requires reprogramming of the camera to turn on and off with power. To control the camera, you can use either a switched cigarette lighter, power from the radio unit, or a 5V regulator off a switched fuse.
