Mobius 3 axis gimbal
thingiverse
Designing a custom gimbal for my Mobius action camera proved to be a challenging task, but I was determined to create one from scratch. My home-built gimbal is not flawless, but it's surprisingly stable and performs exceptionally well on the testing bench. I aimed to keep the design as simple as possible, using minimal tools and bolts. The gimbal features high-quality 2208 motors paired with precision-controlled 50x50 gimbal controllers. Its ergonomic design allows for easy mounting of 12mm carbon rods, featuring a wide spacing of 58mm between center points. To facilitate customization, I've included a Skechup file for users to modify according to their specific requirements. This DIY project has been successfully printed using an XYZ 3D printer. Key printing parameters include: • Layer height: precisely set at 0.2mm • 50% 3D density for optimal balance and weight • Thick shells for added structural integrity • Standard speed for smooth printing performance • Low support density to minimize material waste
