I needed a temperature and humidity sensor that could seamlessly integrate into an existing smart home setup, requiring it to be small and highly portable above all else. The initial design stage was less of a concern at this point. The end result was a compact box that could comfortably accommodate four essential components: - Wemos D1 mini - DHT22 sensor - Battery shield for the WEMOS D1 mini - AA Size Power Battery Storage Case, modified to fit the battery perfectly - GTF 18650 3.7V power source - a set of wires To enable deep sleep mode, it was crucial that the reset pin be connected directly to D0. The front panel was carefully glued onto the base of the device. A suitable sketch for flashing the Wemos D1 mini is provided below.
