Francis Bitonti Vertical Studio School of Architecture, RPI, Troy, NY Team Members: Rebecca Bruno, Rushdan Majumder, David Pelcher We set out to design a cutting-edge creation - a 3D printer called the Mobile Replicator. With wheels allowing it to move along an infinite Y-axis, our device has the unique ability to print longer items than standard printers. Moreover, its use of a paste extruder makes the printing process even smoother. First and foremost, our team had to build a RepRap Prusa Mendel i3 from scratch. As we learned the intricacies of how 3D printers operate and are constructed during this process, it was an invaluable experience that laid the groundwork for our design of the Mobile Replicator. To ensure that our device is functioning at its optimal level, we drew upon firmware taken from ErikZalm's Marlin on GitHub: https://github.com/ErikZalm/Marlin Below you will find a list of necessary materials required to build and assemble your Mobile Replicator 3D printer: Aluminum Siding (10 pieces) Nuts and Bolts for Frame (50) RC Car wheels (4) Stepper Motors (5) Linear Bearings (8) Ball Bearings (8) 2' Rods (4) Timing Belt (10') Timing Pulley (12) Acrylic MDF
