Mobile Holo Pyramid
thingiverse
I stumbled upon a YouTube video that claimed to teach you how to create an holographic projector from an old CD case, courtesy of the American Haker (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9t0cOYvOy4M). I just had to give it a shot. So I hacked open my old CD cases, tossed them into some glue, and got creative. Let me tell you, those CD cases were quite hard to cut. Adding some tape was necessary to get the pieces to stick together. The challenge came when trying to balance the pyramid on top of my phone - not an easy feat, I can assure you. So I scrapped the idea altogether. I figured it's time for a solid base. What did that entail? Well, cutting four trapezoids out of the CD case seemed like a decent plan. Measurements are key here: small base width is 1 cm, big base width is 6 cm, and the height will be about 3.5 cm. I just printed those pieces using my RepRap printer, specifically setting it to 0.2 layers for the most crisp detail possible. To put this whole project together, I had to carefully place the small bases onto the big base I had just created. Finally, it was time to hunt down a cool holo video on YouTube and get ready to experience some holographic goodness!
