Mobile Device Mount for Bicycle
thingiverse
I designed a mobile phone mount for my bike with a 35 mm stem that attaches securely and easily removes my device. The mount features a unique dual-material construction, where one half is printed in flexible TPU (blue) to allow smooth insertion and removal of the phone from its case. This TPU section also provides a snug fit around the device, ensuring it stays put while I'm riding. To achieve this design, I cleverly manipulated the 3D printing process by cutting into the TPU filament as it was being drawn out by the extruder. At the same time, I fed in PLA (black) filament at the precise point where I wanted the strong and durable mounting point to begin. The included CAD files are tailored for a Sony 1 device, but they can be easily edited to accommodate any other smartphone model. Simply import the design into your preferred CAD software and make the necessary adjustments to ensure a perfect fit. When assembling the mount, you'll need to tap the case section using an M3 tap or simply use the provided M3 10mm Allen head screw. This secure attachment ensures my phone stays firmly in place while I'm cruising down the bike trail.
