Moasca is a town in Asti Province, situated within the UNESCO Buffer Zone that separates the Core Zones "Nizza Monferrato and Barbera" and "Canelli and Asti Spumante." The area "Nizza Monferrato and Barbera" lies in Alto Monferrato. This region in Asti Province was chosen for its connection to the territory of the Barbera grape variety, which has been cultivated in Piedmont for over 500 years. The border of this zone includes the most significant part of the territorial system of D.O.C.G. Barbera d'Asti production, culture, and landscape.
