Moai XXXL (no support)
thingiverse
Thank you to Julien_DaCosta for creating a no overhang Moai statue. I broke it down into three pieces (and some bolts) so you can print the parts extra large and glue them together. Because based on the "Moai statue - No overhang" design, you won't need any support. For example, with the CR-10S scale, the parts will be approximately 260% larger, resulting in a ~520mm tall Moai. If you want it even bigger, try using the nine pieces version: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3417837 Just scale all the parts by the same factor and print the large parts first. Then print one part at a time, checking whether it fits, and adjust its size slightly if necessary. (Keep in mind that the scaling for vertical and horizontal bolts may not be the same, so test it!) Once you're happy with each part's fit, print the rest. Depending on your glue, you might not need to use the bolts at all. Consider sanding the inner walls before gluing the parts together. You'll likely also need to sand and paint the assembled Moai to achieve a smooth finish. If you plan to display it outdoors, I recommend painting with resin for added strength and durability. Note that there's no gap between the pieces, so be cautious not to use too much glue on the walls or over-sand them. I haven't tested this yet, but I created the separate parts just for fun! If you manage to print a massive XXXL Moai, please share your Make with me.
