Human: Assembly of Moai Page Holder Thank you to mmiketung for creating the Moai figurine and to the Rapa Nui people for inventing them years ago. I also want to thank Lorduncan for designing the page holder invention that inspired this project. Before you start printing, make sure everything is flat on the build plate. I added manual support and let the slicer generate Gcode for an Anet A8. You may need to use the .stl files and slice your own. A 1mm thick disk provides support for the jaw attachment, saving you from using raft. Unfortunately, my pictures came out upside down and I'm unable to correct them. Please follow the instructions in the order they appear. 100 The tools required. 101 Four parts need support removal. 102 Support was added using S3D slicer. 103 Some support remains under the jaw. 104 The jaw attachment merged with the disk. 105 Minimal support exists for the hat. 106 Remove support from the back of the head. 107 If necessary, smooth out rough areas with a flame. 108 Remove support under the jaw to reveal the hole for the attachment. Note that the hole is at an angle, which may present some challenges. 109 Remove support from the hat. 112 Measure 6mm (1/4") up from the ball and mark it. This is how far the jaw attachment must extend. 113 Insert the attachment into the jaw to the marked position. 114 Remove the disk to expose the hole in the ball. 115 Thread a #64 rubber band through the hat. 116 Pass a wire through the two ends of the rubber band. 117 Thread the wire down through the head and seat the hat as shown. 118 Pull the rubber band around the jaw attachment. 119 Slide the wire out to the side, allowing you to remove it without damaging the rubber band. 120 Place the bottom of the jaw inside the neck cutout. 121 Pull the mouth shut tight to align the ball in the socket. 122-123 Gently tap the lower lip with a small hammer to secure the ball in place. 125 The attachment should fit easily into the socket. 126 Now you can lay your Moai on its back and use it as a page holder, just like Lorduncan's invention.
